Detailed Spec Table |
Backset
2-3/8 inches |
This is the distance from the edge (flange) of the door to the center of the main bore hole. About 5% of U.S. doors have a backet of 2-3/4 inch. |
5-1/2 inches |
For front doors, this is the measurement from the dead bolt’s bore hole to the bronze lever or bronze knob’s bore hole. Ninety percent of U.S. doors have a 5-1/2 inches center-to-center measurement. There are a few ugly Weslock door hardware that has a 3 inch center-to-center measurement . |
Door Thickness
1-3/4 inches to 2-1/4 inches |
These are standard door thicknesses. Anything thinner (if you live in a mobile home) or thicker (if you live in a castle) may not fit. |
Latch Bore Hole
1 inch diameter 4 inches deep |
This is the standard latch bore hole dimensions. Some custom made doors will have a latch that’s deeper than one inch. It looks sort of ridiculous. |
Bronze Lever or Bronze Knob Bore Hole
2-1/8 inches diameter |
This is the big hole that houses your door hardware. |
Entry Set Bottom Bronze Cap Hole
3/8 inch diameter |
For your front door, this is the little bronze cap that anchors the bottom of your bronze door hardware. If you ‘re replacing most Weslock. Kwickset, or Emtek door hardware, the hole is this big. |
Mortise Locks
If you have a mortise lock currently on your door, Teague products will not make a good replacement. The bore holes needed for our hardware to fit will not work if your door has already been cut for a mortise lock. |
Tubular Locks
Most doors use tubular locks, not mortise locks. Teague products can replace 90 % of the doors in America that are currently fitted for a tubular lock. |
