Dummy Knobs & Levers |
Bronze dummy knobs and levers don't turn. They're just something to pull on. Usually, homeowners attach them to the outside of linen closets, laundry doors, or any other simple door that doesn't need a latch to hold it shut. |
 |
Passage Knobs & Levers |
Bronze passage knobs and levers do turn, but don't lock. They are probably the most abundant door hardware in your home. Homeowners use passage knobs and levers on dining room doors, living room doors, den doors, children's bedroom doors, kitchen doors, etc.... |
 |
Privacy Knobs & Levers |
Bronze privacy knobs and levers turn and lock at the touch of a button. They are typically installed on bathroom doors, master bedrooms, guest bedrooms, and other bedrooms used by adults. Even though they lock from the inside, a small pin can be poked into a small safety release hole to unlock the door in case of an emergency. |

Avila Entry Set |
Entry Set is the term that is more commonly referred to as "Front door hardware." The solid bronze Avila Entry Set does not come with a full front plate. It's separated into two pieces for a sleeker, more elegant look. If you are installing this on a door that has never had high-end door hardware, you may need to do some drilling. |
 |
Cuesta Entry Set |
Entry Set is the term that is more commonly referred to as "Front door hardware." The solid bronze Cuesta Entry Set comes with a full front plate. It has one solid, husky, manly, strong slab of bronze on the font. If you are installing this on a door that has never had high-end door hardware, you may need to do some drilling. |

Dead bolts |
These are heavy-duty locks that are usually placed on external doors. We only sell solid bronze, single-cylinder dead bolts. This means that you use a key to open the lock from the outside, but can open it with a turning latch from the inside. We don't sell bronze double-cylinder dead bolts because they are so dangerous during a fire. If someone forgets to return the key to a locked double-cylinder dead bolt, people can't open the door. |

Drilling a Bore Hole |
Bore holes are the 2 1/4 inch-in-diameter holes drilled into doors. These huge holes houses solid bronze door hardware. Ninety percent of doors come with these already drilled because they are so tricky to install. It's not your typical do-it-yourself homeowner project. But, if you bought a door without the bore holes already drilled, you might want to try it yourself. We give you basic guidelines on how to do it. |
